The ED Tech-UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) provides patient care as directed by a Registered Nurse within their authorized duties to deliver exceptional patient care.  Must possess a broad range of skills including observation, communication, and organization.  Must be flexible, self-motivated and willing to accept a variety of patient care assignments.  Assists with unit maintenance activities such as stocking and cleaning, or other tasks as directed. 


What you’ll need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required


Requires ONE of the following:

  • CNA II certification
  • EMT B certification
  • Enrolled in an accredited nursing school
  • Previous experience as an ED Tech or in a comparable role (i.e. CMA, UAP).              


AND requires experience in acute care or Emergency Medical Service setting.

Prefer phlebotomy skills and one year of recent experience in pre-hospital (EMS) or an emergency department or completion of one (1) year of nursing school within the last two (2) years is preferred. Ortho splinting experienced is also preferred.

  • EMT-B, AEMT or EMT-P preferred
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required within 90 days

CPI training within 6 months of hire
